Video Otoscopy in McAllen: See Inside Your Ear
A video otoscope shows the inside of your ear canal on a screen, so you and Jordan can look at it together.
What is video otoscopy?
Video otoscopy uses a camera-equipped otoscope to display the ear canal and eardrum on a screen in real time. At Mid Valley Hearing Technologies the MedRx video otoscope is wired directly into the MedRx audiometer, so the image sits alongside your test results. It is included in every hearing test at no extra charge.
Being told "you have a lot of wax" is easy to shrug off. Seeing the blocked canal on a screen makes it easy to understand. The same goes the other way. If your ears are clear and the problem is nerve loss, seeing a clean, healthy eardrum helps explain why a hearing aid may be the next step.
Because the otoscope is connected to the audiometer, the image and the audiogram live in the same place. That matters for tracking change over time: a canal that looked one way last year and another way now is documented, not remembered.

Ask at the visit and we will sort something out. Plenty of people want to send it to a family member who has been nagging them to get their ears checked.
No. If we see anything that needs medical care, Jordan will refer you to a physician. If the image shows something that needs medical attention, such as infection, perforation, drainage or anything unusual, we tell you and refer you on. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions of the ear.
