Hearing Aid Consultation in McAllen
Sit down with Jordan and go over your hearing test, your options and your budget. He is the same person who will fit, program and repair your hearing aids.
What happens at a hearing aid consultation?
A hearing aid consultation at Mid Valley Hearing Technologies reviews your audiogram, your daily listening demands and your budget, then matches those to devices from any of seven manufacturers: Starkey, Phonak, Oticon, Widex, Signia, ReSound and Unitron. The clinic is locally owned and works with seven brands.
Your hearing aid recommendation should come from your hearing test. Benefit networks steer members toward house brands. Neither is necessarily a bad device, but neither is a recommendation that started with your audiogram.
Mid Valley is independent and fits seven manufacturers. We work with seven brands, so Jordan can recommend the one that suits your hearing and your daily life.

Bring your benefit information to this appointment
If you have coverage through TruHearing, UnitedHealthcare Hearing, Start Hearing or NationsHearing, bring the card and we will verify it before you spend anything. Networks often steer members toward a house brand, but you can usually use the benefit and still choose from our full range. Ask us and we will tell you exactly what your specific plan allows.
Hearing Aid Consultation: questions we get asked
It varies widely with technology level, and the right device depends on your audiogram. We go over the full price with you before you decide, including device, fitting, follow-up care and plan.
If you have hearing loss in both ears, usually yes, because locating sound and understanding speech in noise both depend on two working ears. If your loss is meaningfully worse on one side only, we will say so. We will not sell you a second aid your audiogram does not support.
Often yes, though it depends on the specific plan. Networks push their own house brands, but most allow a range. We will check your plan and go over what it includes.
Yes. Texas rules give you a 30-day trial period on hearing aid purchases. We will go over the terms in your written contract with you before you sign.
Then we tell you that. It happens: wax, a middle-ear issue, or a loss too mild to be worth treating yet. Being sent home without a purchase is a perfectly normal outcome of a first visit here.
