Contracted benefit network
UnitedHealthcare Hearing Provider in McAllen
Mid Valley Hearing Technologies is a contracted provider for UnitedHealthcare Hearing, the network that administers the hearing benefit inside most UnitedHealthcare and AARP-branded plans.
What UnitedHealthcare Hearing is
UnitedHealthcare Hearing runs its own network of roughly 7,000 provider locations rather than outsourcing to TruHearing or another administrator. If you have a UnitedHealthcare plan with a hearing benefit, including many AARP Medicare Advantage and AARP Medicare Supplement plans, this is almost certainly the network it runs through.
The benefit typically covers a hearing exam and a set allowance or fixed price toward devices from a defined menu. What it does not do is choose your provider for you. That part is yours.

Good to know about the device menu
UnitedHealthcare Hearing leans heavily on Relate, its own house brand, which is manufactured by Sonova, the same company that makes Phonak and Unitron. Relate devices are built on solid platforms. The menu is set by the network, so it helps to compare it with your hearing test results. We fit Phonak and Unitron directly as well, so we can tell you exactly what the equivalent is and where the differences matter.

UnitedHealthcare Hearing: questions we get asked
Almost certainly yes. AARP-branded Medicare plans are underwritten by UnitedHealthcare and their hearing benefit runs through UnitedHealthcare Hearing. Bring your card and we will verify it for free.
Relate is UnitedHealthcare Hearing’s own house brand, manufactured by Sonova, the parent company of Phonak and Unitron. The hardware is capable. Jordan can tell you whether it is the right device for your hearing.
Many do. It varies by plan, so we verify it before anything is charged. There is no cost and no obligation to have us check.
Sometimes, depending on the plan, and sometimes only by paying the difference. We will lay out both routes with real numbers so you can decide. What we will not do is quietly steer you to whichever one suits us.
Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids at all. UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans frequently do include a hearing benefit, administered through UnitedHealthcare Hearing. Those are two different things and the distinction catches a lot of people out.
