Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about hearing tests, hearing aids and coverage.

Coverage and cost

Hearing benefits and paying for care

Many plans include a hearing aid benefit through TruHearing, UnitedHealthcare Hearing, Start Hearing or NationsHearing, and we are a contracted provider for all four. We do not bill health insurance directly, and we are not a Medicare, Medicaid or VA provider. Bring your plan card and we will check what it covers at no charge.

Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids. Many Medicare Advantage plans do include a hearing benefit, often through one of the four networks we work with. If you have a separate card from an insurance company, you likely have Medicare Advantage.

A Hearing Instrument Specialist is a state-licensed professional who tests hearing and fits, programs and repairs hearing aids. Jordan also removes ear wax and performs tympanometry at the clinic.

Please book ahead for a hearing test, since it takes about an hour. If a hearing aid has stopped working, you can walk in Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.

Call (956) 576-3593 for current pricing. Annual testing is included at no additional cost on both care plans.

It depends on the technology level that suits your hearing. After your hearing test, we quote the full cost, including the device, fitting, follow-ups and ongoing care, before you decide.

Jordan uses a small curette and gentle suction, with a camera so he can see the ear canal the whole time. We do not use water flushing.

It measures how well your eardrum moves and the pressure in your middle ear. It takes about a minute per ear, it is painless, and it can pick up fluid and pressure problems a tone test does not show.
